How Bear Down Works

When you activate Bear Down, you get two big advantages:

Boosted Velocity & Control – Your pitches move faster and your command is sharper, making it harder for batters to react.
Shrinking Perfect Accuracy Region (PAR) – The circle showing your perfect release spot becomes smaller, so hitting corners or precise spots is much easier.

Bear Down doesn’t make your pitch automatic—you still need to hit the timing and placement on your chosen interface, whether that’s Pinpoint, Meter, or Classic.

How to Activate Bear Down
Select Your Pitch – Choose the pitch you want to throw.
Hold the Trigger – Press and hold L2 on PlayStation or LT on Xbox just before your delivery.
Look for Visual Cues – The game will give a slight slow-motion effect or a subtle animation to signal activation.

Once active, execute your pitch as normal—the boost is applied instantly.

Strategic Tips for Pro Use

Bear Down is powerful but limited. Treat it like a precious resource:

Earn Charges Smartly – You gain Bear Down by throwing strikes and getting strikeouts. High-Clutch pitchers can hold up to four charges per game.
Save for Critical Moments – Don’t waste it on routine batters. Ideal times include:
Runners in scoring position
Full-count situations (3-2) for strikeouts
Keep It Secret – Opponents get no warning when you activate Bear Down, so you can surprise them with pinpoint pitches.
Watch Stamina – Each activation costs energy. Overusing it with a tired pitcher can backfire, causing wild pitches even with Bear Down active.
Pair with Breaking Balls – Fastballs get a velocity bump, but breaking and off-speed pitches shine most with the smaller PAR, making their placement deadly.

Using Bear Down effectively separates good pitchers from great ones. By saving charges for high-pressure spots, pairing it with tricky pitches, and managing stamina, you can dominate the late innings like a pro.
