In my "humilde" xD opinion i think kicks it's ok for the style he is making, make kicks harder break the sence of this track and probably he need to remake the bass to eq better then loose all the sence of old makina ( its only an opinion :) ) But yes if he add's some arpeggios it will make track more beautifull
